Arabic also holds a prestigious position as one of the six official languages of the UN. For Muslims worldwide, Arabic holds unparalleled importance as the language of the Holy Quran and Sunnah, serving as the foundational medium for Islamic sciences and Arabic literature.

The Department of Arabic: A Brief Overview

The Department of Arabic was established at the college in 1988 under the visionary leadership of Dr. Ab Raheem Rather, with only a handful of students enrolled. Over the years, the department flourished, witnessing exponential growth in student enrollment. Esteemed professors and language experts, including Dr. Javaid Ahmad Pal and Dr. Nayeem ur Rehman, have significantly contributed to its development and prestige.
Currently, the department is headed by Dr. Firdous Nazir, who has been serving since 2024. Under his guidance, the department continues to uphold its tradition of excellence in fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of the Arabic language.
