About

The department of Political science placed under the school of social sciences has a broad range of studies varying from human behaviour to National / International Phenomena. Since the year of establishment i.e. 1987 the department is promoting a holistic environment for developing a culture of creativity, innovation, and an inquisitive approach. At present department is offering UG Course with Political Science as Major and Minor subject Under. The Department focuses on interdisciplinary studies in diverse areas like philosophical doctrines of various political thinkers, constitutional safeguards, international affairs, democratic governance, comparative politics ,Public Policy, Political Theory, International Relations ,Environment and Development, Peace and Conflicts, Human Rights, New world order, The Department also offers Skill Enhancement and Multi-Disciplinary Courses for the students from diverse academic backgrounds viz; Political system of India, Public Opinion and Servey Research and Legal Literacy .
It offers Four year Undergraduate programme with Political science as Major/Minor subject under NEP .The present intake capacity of the department for the UG course is 80 students for Major and 80 for Minor respectively. The Department is staffed with well qualified and dedicated team of faculty members specialized in diverse fields of Political Science.The Department regularly organizes various programmes and activities as part of its curriculum delivery and the faculty uses up-to-date teaching aids and technology for effective teaching-learning experience.

The aim of the Department is not only to aware students with various happenings at domestic and foreign fronts but also guide students for preparation of competitive examinations.
The Department is committed to the core values like Integrity, Inclusivity,, Learning, and Diversity to build a good humane society and also Promote employment opportunities for the students.
