During my Ph.D work, I have designed and synthesized several metallodrug therapeutic antitumor combination agents derived from bioactive (2-pyrimidylthio)acetic acid, N-glycoside and various N,N-donor {1,10-phenanthroline, 2,2'-bipyridine/5,5-dimethyl-2,2'-bipyridine} ligands. These synthesized complexes were characterized by using a variety of spectroscopic methods viz., FTIR, UV-Visible absorption, nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopies, EPR spectroscopy, ESI-MS. The molecular structures of all the synthesized complexes were confirmed by single X-ray diffraction studies. Computational studies like DFT, Hirshfeld surface Analysis and Docking studies were performed. To validate the antitumor potential of the complexes, In vitro binding studies of these complexes with ct-DNA were investigated by
variety of biophysical techniques like CD Spectroscopy, cyclic voltammetry, UV-vis and fluorescence spectroscopy etc. In vitro cytotoxicity of complexes against various human cancer cell lines (breast, liver, cervix, oral squamous, lung prostate etc) were carried out. This research was published in several good impact research journals like Polyhedron, Molecular Structure, Inorganica Chimica Acta, Journal of Drug Delivery Science and Technology, Journal of Biomolecular Structure and Dynamics and ACS Omega.
